Well, I’m sure everyone who went to Navin’s party is writing about this, but oh what the heck, I have nothing better to write about. Well, on Saturday, 20th September, my friend Navin had a birthday party. The idea of the party was to go to Cineleisure for a movie and dinner, then play around there until everyone goes home. Well, this post is about my point of view on the party.
Around 3:00, my mother and I left to go to Navin’s house. The plan was to follow Navin to Cineleisure, then follow him back home where my parents can fetch me there. Well, finding Navin’s house was no problem, except for the fact that my mum had to call Navin’s mum 3-5 times to get directions (“Oh, so I turn left after the Opal sign? Wait, there is no Opal sign. Oh ok, so I turn right after the Shell station? Wait, there are two Shell stations here...). After much brainstorming to find out how to get there, my mother finally found the house and dropped me there to meet with Navin.
After reaching Navin’s house we wasted no time. Navin, one of my friends named Eugene (or Jin or Ee as some people call him) and of course I were taken to Cineleisure by Navin’s mother. On the way there, we picked up a dude named Adam. Other then the fact Jin and I had a rather embarrassing conversation in the car, it was an ok drive.
Once we reached Cineleisure, we saw Claire/my advisor, Travis, Jeremy and a lot of other people. (Note, this is being written from memory so it’s a bit blurry). After awhile, I saw Sue, Xin Yen and Amelia. While waiting for a few friends to arrive, Navin’s mother bought the tickets for the movie we were to see. After 15-20 minutes, everyone had arrived except His Majesty David Lim Khye Xian and Daniel Tee who were taking their own time. During the mean time, our little party group watched this dude acting like a retard (I do believe they call it “Break Dancing”. Ok just kidding, the dude didn’t do that bad, I liked his dancing, well at least some of it) for charity.
After His Highness David and Daniel Tee arrived, we hanged around a bit then went up to the theatre. Navin’s mother handled the presents and bought popcorn and drinks for 17 children (Amazing woman). We picked up or drinks and popcorn then headed off to the theatre to see the movie named “Mamma Mia!” I ended up sitting next to my Advisor/Claire and Dileep and without popcorn (Oh well). The movie was seriously funny/ridiculous/amazing/weird/entertaining. The movie contained loads of songs from the music group ABBA (popular from the 1970’s till the 1980’s). Songs are still stuck in my head... (You can dance...you can jive...). I liked the songs Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen and Super Trouper the most.
After the movie, we headed to the Arcade in Cineleisure. I can remember David and Travis playing pool while the girls headed off to the karaoke booth. Dileep and I decided to fight Jin and Adam in a match of foosball (And we won:). Jin and I shuffled between singing in the karaoke booth and playing foosball. Finally, Jin and I challenged Claire and Xin Yen to a game of foosball. I can’t remember who won but I can remember Sue joining in to fight Claire and Xin Yen. However, we heard the song Dancing Queen playing in the karaoke booth and quickly joined in to sing together. Navin and Jin acted like rock stars while singing (And they made quite a good impression).
After a long time of hanging around in the arcade (and getting our ears blasted by the girls singing Avril Lavigne- Girlfriend), one by one our friends started to leave. Soon, everyone had left for home except for Eugene, Jeremy and I who were meant to follow the birthday boy back to his house. Once back at Navin's house, Jeremy had to immediately go back home. Jin and I helped open Navin's presents while Navin lay in bed sick (To much partying for the little boy...). I got Navin chocolates and a book while Jin got him...something (Forgot laa, as I said, this is from memory). Around 10:00 – 10:15, Jin left. And the rest is just history.
Oh well, I know it’s long, and most of you people didn’t actually read it... but I guess you could just call this blog my diary.
